HISTORY OF TRPC

Timber Ridge Pony Club was started in February 1991 in Jones County and surrounding areas. The application fee at that time was $200. In the "Application For Membership as a Club" form, it asked for three choices of names. Timber Ridge was the first choice, New Hope was the second choice. There was no third choice listed. There was another PC in the Cedar Rapids area at the time, called Indian Ridge PC. Due to this, TRPC couldn't be listed as "Rural Cedar Rapids", as it was originally stated. The area had to be listed as "Jones County and surrounding areas". Indian Ridge has since closed, and TRPC is known as the PC in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas. Kim Lyman was the initial DC, and a Graduate B ponyclubber. The club started out with six members. In 1993 Deb Robinson was the DC and TRPC had five members. In 1994 Carol Berg was the DC and she had three daughters in the club. In 1998 the DC was Lois Pienkos, with her son and daughter as members. Following Lois, was Diane Riccolo in 2002. She also had a daughter, as a TRPC member. After Diane's reign of two years, Lois was again DC in 2004 for another year. In 2005 Cindy Hainline was the DC for five years, also having a daughter in the club. TRPC's current DC is Gerry Jones. Gerry has two daughters in the club. The lowest number of members has been five, in 1993 with the highest membership being 26 in 2003.
